The FFA students are sponsoring a petting zoo and ride your tractor to school day!



Fort Frye High School students competed at the first annual Ohio Valley Robotics and Drones Competition hosted by Belpre High School. Fifty students from Fort Frye, Belpre, Warren High School, Warren Middle School, Caldwell competed in allied Robotics teams meaning that schools were paired with students from other schools to work together to win the competition. Fort Frye's Dominic Stone and his Belpre Team 1 allies won the Championship in the Robotics Competition! Tanner Boswell and his Belpre Team 6 allies won runner-up in the Robotics Championship. Next, in the Drones single team competition, Levi McConnell and Connor Schnell won the Drones Championship! Additionally, Conner Dyar and Elliot Gilcrist won runner-up in the Drones Championship. Fort Frye Drones swept the field as the last three rounds were all Fort Frye pilots and co-pilots. Several generous donors (Micro Machine Works, Ascent, Beverly Lions Club and some wishing to remain anonymous) sponsored this event with scholarship money and these winners will receive a grand total of $510. Appalachian Ohio Manufacturing Coalition, Wings, Etc. of Belpre, and Kroger of Belpre generously supported our meal today. The Washington County Sheriff's Department and Building Bridges to Careers also helped sponsor this event.




Our students compete in the drone competition!


4th grade students at Lowell Elementary completed a letter of concerns about their community for Social Studies class. Lowell Mayor, Mr. Steve Weber was very touched by their suggestions and letters that he is working toward implementing some of their suggestions such as signs to not litter at the park and fixing some burnt out street lights. The students were very excited to see that their voices were heard.

It's happening! Our first ever robotic and drone competition today! So proud of our kiddos and teaching staff for launching these STEM programs at our high school! And thank you to our many donors, administration, and Board of Education who have helped us sponsor these program!

Fort Frye FFA chapter held their annual Greenhand Ceremony. At the Greenhand ceremony we celebrated over 130 Discovery, Greenhand and Chapter Degree Recipients. During the Ceremony we welcomed Mr. James Ruble from Appalachian Ohio Manufacturers’ Coalition who donated $ 2,200 for new welding Personal Protective Equipment and an additional 3-D Printer. We also had the opportunity to have former Fort Frye FFA alumni Collin Bauerbach along with Ohio FFA Vice President at Large Landon Shelpman give some remarks. We gave special recognition to our Star FFA Members who are selected every year for being outstanding students that demonstrate the most involvement in all phases of the chapter's activities. Star Discovery Awards were given to Kallie Boley, Grady Hesson and Ty Worthington. Star Greenhands Awards were given to McKenzie Schaad and Peyton Offenberger. Lastly our Star Chapter Awards were given to Julia Silvus and Alex Henke.
