FFMS Families, It's been a busy week at FFMS and it's about to get busier. Please pay attention to the Friday Focus each week as we have many important updates with testing and end of the year events. FFMS is changing the way they deliever the state test. We are being purposeful about testing in small groups to provide students with the best enviornment. Information will be coming out next week about groupings. ELA testing will take place the week before we leave for spring break (April 7th-11th). 8th grade familes, We have set the date for the mandatory parent meeting for all student attending the Washington DC trip. In partnership with Aspire Autism Center, the Fort Frye Local School District is hosting an awareness and educational event about understanding and meeting the needs of children with autism. This is in recognition of April being autism awareness month. Attached is a flyer about the event on April 28 that is open to the community. Please help us make this event beneficial by sharing it with student families, community members, and contacts that you may know who would benefit from participation in this program.

8th grade families, If your child plans to take a CCP course as a freshman, the packet is due by April 1st. If students need a CCP packet, it can be picked up from the guidance office.

FFMS families, Sorry for the late Friday Focus. It was a busy reward day today. Students had fun dancing and/or watching March Madness and shopping at the Cadet Store. We are off to a great last nine weeks. Make sure you check out the Friday Focus every week because the 4th nine weeks is the busiest with testing and end of year activities. Our school watched the musical yesterday and it was absolutely incredible! We have many middle school students who were involved in the musical this year and I'm very proud of them! 8th grade families, If your 8th grader is interesting in taking CCP classes next year, make sure you complete the proper paperwork and reach out to the guidance office for information. Happy Friday! Please note we have a PTO meeting on Tuesday at 6pm. We will be drawing the raffle winner during the meeting! It will be live on Facebook. 8th grade families, Bus and room assignments have been set for Washington, D.C. We are gathering all the spring schedules and will set a mandatory parent meeting at the beginning of April. This date will be communicated soon. Dear Middle School Families, I can hardly believe it’s already the last day of February! This school year is flying by, and it’s incredible to see how much our students have grown and accomplished in just a few short months. As we head into March, I want to thank you for your continued support and partnership. Happy Friday! We have a lot going on this evening! Our 8th graders are playing for the championship in the Washington County tournament. Good luck players and cheerleaders. We also have a formal from 8pm-10pm at Beverly Center Gym. The cost is $8 and that includes a drink and snack. You will notice on Thursday of next week we have a violence training planned for all students. Ohio public K-12 public schools are required to offer all students age-appropriate education on preventing sexual and dating abuse and violence. Happy Valentine's Day FFMS families! Interim reports have been posted. Check infinite campus for your child's updated grades. School will not be in session on Monday due to President's Day. Conferences are scheduled for Thursday February 20th. To schedule a conference with your child's teacher(s), call Kelli Walsh at 740-984-2376 ext. 1230 Also, please note that the time for winter formal has changed because of the JH boys basketball tournament. FFMS families, We had a busy day of testing on Wednesday and our students did a fabulous job. We take an assessment called MAP in both reading and math. We give it 3 times throughout the year. These assessments measure growth over time, compare results to similar results across the nation and project proficiency for year-end summative tests. FFMS Families, I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude for your generous donations of games for indoor recess. We are working on creating totes for each grade level are are still accepting donations. As you may know, this year has brought an exceptional number of indoor recess days. While we do our best to keep students engaged and entertained, we could use your help to make indoor recess even better! We are asking for donations of new or gently used board games, card games, and other activities that will help keep our students engaged during recess. Games like UNO and similar options are especially popular among the kids. If you’re able to contribute, please send your donation to the middle school office.
