This year at the 98th Ohio FFA Convention, the Fort Frye FFA Chapter was extremely successful. We had a total of 19 people walk across the stage to be recognized or receive an award and we couldn't be more proud!

We had 8 people walk across the stage and receive their state degrees this year. This award requires earning and investing over $2,500 in their Supervised Agricultural Experiences as well as 25 hours of community service, involvement in FFA activities, and leadership roles. This is the highest degree the Ohio FFA Association can give to its members. We also had member Ty Worthington be recognized as a Finalist for the Star State Degree in Agricultural Placement, this is a huge accomplishment as he is only one of sixteen individuals who are selected as a Star Finalist!

Members Alyssa White and Mollie Lang represented our chapter in the Agriscience Fair competition - Plant Systems Division 4. They placed Top 4 in the State and also received the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences Dean’s Choice Award which is a $1,000 scholarship to The Ohio State University!

The Middle School Quiz Bowl Team was recognized for placing first in the state and walked across stage to receive their plaque.

Our chapter had Four State Proficiency Finalists - which was a huge accomplishment! Members competing in each award area have to keep excellent records of their Supervised Agricultural Experience and record their growth and learning outcomes in a 20 page document, while competing with other members across the state, creating a poster and completing a virtual interview. At the State Convention, 3 of these finalists were state winners! Congratulations to Ty Worthington - Fruit Production, Christy Willis - Veterinary Science, and Alexis White - Agricultural Communications for their first place finish! Their applications will now be forwarded to National FFA for the chance to be selected as a National Finalist. Kallie Boley placed fourth in her category of Specialty Crop Production.  We are proud of all of our finalists!

Our chapter was also recognized for charitable giving because our chapter donated over $500 to the local community, and member McKenzie Schaad walked across stage to receive the award. Members Reiley Miller and Peyton Offenberger walked across the stage to receive our Gold Rated National Chapter Award, and our chapter officers Kallie Boley, Parker Burris and Hannah Weiker all crossed for receiving a Gold-Rated Officer Book. We also had member Zoey Miller participate in the Ohio FFA choir, which was a first for our chapter.

Overall, the Fort Frye FFA Chapter had an incredibly successful experience at the 98th Ohio FFA Convention! Thank you to our community for helping us achieve our goals.
