A local problem turned into a real-world project for our students.
Root 60 Coffee reached out about needing a custom chock for their drive-thru window. One of our students, Jaylon Casto, designed a 3D model using AutoCAD that met the specifications for the space and function required. The design was then brought to life using our Bambu X1C 3D printer to create a working prototype. After testing, the design was refined to improve the fit and performance.
Projects like this connect directly to Engineering Design CTE standards by giving students hands-on experience with the full design process—identifying a need, creating a digital model, prototyping, testing, and refining a solution.
This is Career Technical Education at work: learning by doing while solving real problems for our community.
