Today was our annual Grandparent/ Grandfriends day at Lowell Elementary. Thank you, Lowell PTO, for helping out and supporting this event. It was a wonderful day of snacks, book fair, crafts, and pictures.

Our annual family literacy night was held this evening. Author, Leigh Ann Florence, and her rockstar dogs, Woody and Chloe came to visit. Leigh Ann gave a super presentation and all who joined us enjoyed a nice supper, which consisted of hotdogs, chips, and a drink. In addition, there were vendors sharing information about their various school-age programs and Mr. Henniger had art projects displayed for all to view. The Scholastic Book Fair was open as well. It was a great success overall. Thank you, PTO for helping with the dinner.

Students were presented with a short presentation on the importance of small farming communities and the local foods they have to offer. Goat cheese was even shared with the students. This was a great opportunity for the kiddos.

First grade would like to thank Barry Backus from the Washington County Board of Developmental Disabilities for coming to talk with our first graders about inclusion. Each student was given their very own copy of the book “Strictly No Elephants.” Barry read the book to the students as they followed along. It was a heart-warming story about always including others and a wonderful reminder for all. ♥️
