Here is the May Newsletter, Menu and Birthday list.

Dear Parents/ Guardians of Lowell Elementary,
As you may have heard, Lowell is going to be under renovation in the very near future. Therefore, starting Monday, May 5, 2025, we will be using the front doors as our main entrance for ALL students during arrival and dismissal times. Please know construction will be starting that week inside of the building near complex A and the kindergarten room. Therefore, the side staff entrance, where walkers and car riders usually enter, will NOT be used by students for the remainder of the year.
As for the morning drop off routine all car drivers and walkers will continue to use the same procedures as we have all year. With this being said, students will exit the car and walk around the building following the sidewalk where staff members will be greeting them at the front of the building (the three cafeteria doors). If your child is arriving after 9:20, the tardy bell, they will need to enter through the office vestibule like they have been all year.
Our end of the day parent pick-up routine will remain the same as usual. Parents will meet their student(s) on the basketball court. The only difference is that students will be walked to the pick up area exiting from the front glass doors instead of the side door. With this being said, all bus riders will be released as usual.
I know change is hard, but these changes are necessary as the side of the building will be occupied with construction. Therefore, please be patient and cooperative during this time. Thank you.

Today was the Lowell Elementary Fruit & Veggie Challenge. Our winner was 1st grader, Tucker Scott. He received a grocery bag full of produce to take home. Congratulations, Tucker.

What a great opportunity!

Construction will be starting soon at Lowell Elementary. With that being said, over spring break the gymnasium and music room were freshly painted. So excited for the upcoming change.

Please spread the word.

Today 5th grade students in Mrs. Binegar's social studies class collaborated to create multi-tiered timelines of the Civil Rights Era.

Please help spread the word by sharing the Little Steps flyer!

Reminder PTO Meeting tomorrow evening Monday, April 7th, in the library @ 6:30pm. All are welcome to attend.

Thank you, Mrs. Cindy Worthington, you are so appreciated and we missed spending your special day with you.

Reminder all Spirit Wear Orders are due this Monday. Thank you for your support.

Unfortunately, we were unable to have Grandparent's Day and Family Engagement Reading Night. Many kids were waiting to shop at the book fair at these events. Therefore, the book fair will be open today from 12 to 2 for anyone wanting to still shop. Come to the office front door and the book fair is located in the art room. The book fair will not be here next week. Thank you and have a great day.

Due to flooding and still rising high water, Fort Frye Local Schools will be closed today, Friday, April 4. This is a remote learning day for all students.
Therefore, Grandparents Day has been canceled due to the flooding waters.

Reading Around the World
Students went reading around the world this afternoon. They visited London, New York, and Paris. Mrs. Gandor did a great job organizing activities for our annual literacy night.
Congratulations to Ainslee Lang and Asher Strong for winning our grand prize, which was a suitcase.

Please remember that there is a menu change this Friday due to the Grandparents Day luncheon. We are having:
Macaroni and Cheese
Green Beans
Roll
Fruit Salad
Desserts

Just a reminder: This week is our Scholastic Book Fair.

American Legion Post 750 out of Lowell provided a free book to all students (K-5) at Lowell Elementary today. Their Legion of readers program is greatly appreciated. The students truly enjoy getting a new book to take home. Thank you.
