Shannon Leasure, math coach from the ESC, came in to first grade today to work on addition and subtraction centers with Mrs. Hibbs.

The great apple crunch took place today during lunch. Students were able to choose which type of apple they wanted. Thank you Never, Never Farms for donating the apples.

Thanks to a very generous member of our community all Fort Frye students grades K-12 can attend Friday's Varsity Football game vs. Logan for free. Students will be given a ticket at school, and they will just need to give it to the ticket takers at Friday's game. It is so nice to have such great support throughout our district.

With Veterans Day approaching, we are asking for your help. If you know a Fort Frye alumni who has served our nation please send the name, branch of service, and graduation year to Pam Bennett at Pam.bennett@fortfrye.org. Pictures are appreciated but not required. If you aren’t sure if a veteran is already part of our slideshow, please send the information and we will check!
Students are shown the slideshow each year on Veteran’s Day and it is put on our digital sign in front of the school.

All fourth grade students across the district traveled to Lowell Elementary this morning. The OSU extension office brought a farmers market to us. Students were broken into groups and traveled in stations. They were presented material about making honey, various fruits, and vegetables, the importance of yoga , and healthy and non-healthy drinks. In addition, each student got to spend five dollars at the farmers market. Thank you, Marcus McCartney for making this possible.

Yeah!!! The school year has started. I hope your child had a great first day. Attached is the September newsletter, birthday list and specials rotation for the year. Happy reading.

Welcome back!!!
This is a reminder that tomorrow, September 5, is our first student day. Doors open promptly at 9:00. We ask that all kiddos be in the building by 9:15. Reminder, if you are dropping off your school age child you will enter in the staff parking lot and exit down the alley. The front circle is designated only for buses and preschool drop off. Thank you for your cooperation and I hope we have a WONDERFUL school year.

JUST A REMINDER:
Families of Lowell Elementary, I cannot believe the first day of school is right around the corner. With this being said, please know we are not able to hold our annual open house like in years past simply due to the timing. Our teachers have professional development all day Tuesday through Thursday; therefore, they are not able to finish up their classrooms until Friday afternoon. Please know I am not able to bring in families to view the rooms on a Friday night. Then Labor Day takes place the following Monday, so Monday evening is off limits as well. With this being said, we do want to allow you the opportunity to bring in your child’s supplies if you would like so they are not carrying as much on their first day. Supply drop off will take place Thursday, August 31st from 6:00-7:00 pm out front under the awning. You will be able to bring your child’s supplies and a PTO member will help you to place them in a bag to keep them sorted and then we will get these supplies to your child’s classroom teacher. Please know you will NOT be visiting the classrooms, except the upcoming kindergarten. In closing, if your child would rather bring his or her items with them on Tuesday, Sept 5th that is perfectly fine. We just wanted to provide this opportunity. We can’t wait to see all of the students and we look forward to a great year. Thank you for your understanding. Thank you, Mrs. Ross
